Hair Extensions - FAQ

How long does it take?

A full head of hair extensions takes 4-5 hours, a half-head 2-3 hours and colour placements as little as 30 minutes!

For Microweft extensions a full head can be fully applied and cut in under an hour!

How are the extensions applied?

Racoon's unique bond formula has been specially designed for hair extensions. The bond is kind to hair during application and equally gentle on removal. Easy to apply and maintain, the bonds remain unaffected by daily styling.

Can extensions damage my own hair?

Not only is the bonding designed for easy application, it is designed for easy removal that in no way will damage your own hair.

Do they look false?

No!  The extensions are subtly and expertly applied and you can only see by getting up close, lifting the hair up and looking at the roots.

How long do they last?

With regular maintenance Euro hair can last or up to a year!

What if I want to take them out?

There is a removal charge for this service which includes a specialist detox shampoo by our Racoon hair specialist

What about maintenance/after care?

Maintenance appointments are every 4-6 weeks. This is the most important part of your extension after care. These appointments last around 1-2 hours.

During your appointment every single bond is checked for softening/weakness and any strands that may have come loose are completely replaced including 4-6 full rows at the base of the head in a process called ‘Rotation’. This means that you are having fresh hair added every six weeks to keep your extensions looking glamorous.

When you order your hair for the initial fitting we always order enough for your maintenance appointments -  saving time and money!

With the Euro Hair range, re–processing is possible (to enable the same hair extensions to be used again).

Once the extensions have been taken out any bonding residue is removed, the hair is washed and dried and then sent back to the client for re-use. If the hair is deemed unsuitable for re-use you will be informed and you can then decide how to proceed.

How much does it cost?

To give an accurate price, we need you to come into the salon for a free consultation and a written quote.

The cost breaks down as follows:

  • Hair extensions

  • Bonding material

  • Special after-care brush

  • Special after-care comb

  • Full range of after care products

The stylist needs to see you and assess your hair, to discuss your hopes and expectations and make the appropriate recommendation for the optimum results.  The amount of hair, the length of the hair and various other factors feed into the final price.

If you’re interested, call us on 01525 841992 to arrange a free, no-obligation consultation.

Instant volume?  Instant colour?  Instant length?  No problem!
