The Alchemy of Transformation

In days of old, alchemists were scientists who spent many years performing experiments attempting to turn lead into gold.   

Although they never managed to turn lead into gold, the process they went through during their hours of processing metals and performing experiments transformed them.  They often gained great insight into themselves and instead of making real, material gold; they found the true gold – a connection to their soul nature, their essence.   

At Kevin Reynolds Hair & Beauty, we found we liked this idea because it speaks of how we try to find beauty – or gold – often looking outside of ourselves.  And how we sometimes try to imitate someone else’s beauty, rather than seeing how we are beautiful in our own, unique way. 

American Indian, Aboriginal and other indigenous peoples have jewellers and sculptors who can see the spirit, power or form within rocks waiting to be revealed.   

In just the same way, a good hairdresser or beauty therapist can see the inherent beauty in a person, waiting to be ‘unveiled’.  We understand the natural longing many people have to transformed and seen to be as beautiful as they can possibly be.
